HOW CAN I HAVE A GREAT CAREER AS A CREATIVE???? PLUS A MILLION OTHER EQUALLY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS. ANSWERED.

I very much enjoy working with people to uncover their career goals, figure out what they have to do next, uncover what is in their way then help them fix it, critiquing their portfolio, helping them negotiate their salary, or helping them ask for a raise or a promotion. There are a million questions that I am asked, and very much enjoy answering. I understand the dilemna many creatives face in plotting out their careers. I used to be one.
There is endless information on creativity and kerning type, and the next great idea. There is not so much, if any information on how to navigate a career in creativity, make it last, make it end up where you want it to be, make what you want to have happen, happen. The key word in that last sentence was HOW.
As an aside, you and I both know that creative careers are navigated differently than other careers. As creatives, there are other criteria that need to be taken into account that don't impact those people in other professions. It is creativity after all.
I've worked with the most senior creative people (insert super senior title here). I've worked with not-just-wet-but-downright-moldy-behind-the-ears-juniors trying to break in and coached them into their first job.
Back to How.
How is the word that most people want answered. How is the question most people haven't answered. Without how you're inert. With how, you're in action and can make your career dreams a reality.
Some people want to check in and talk through where they are in their careers. Talk out loud, talk it through, see if they're on track or if they're missing anything obvious. Some people want to know how to find a job, some people need interview coaching, some people need help with their resume, some people want to know what might make them stand out and increase their chances of showcasing their ability to do the job they are applying for better than anyone else. Some people hate the thought of negotiating, so they hire me to help them negotiate their contract. Make sure no details are being over looked. Some people want me to dissect their portfolio and provide feedback on what they should be, or could be doing to improve both it's sign and it's usability.
Others need a goal, a direction, a path. They'd like someone to point out the obvious things that they are not seeing. They need to figure out HOW to get from A (where they are) to where they want to B. Or even where B is, or what B is.
How.
Those are the questions we'll answer.
In the interest of full disclosure, these services are not free. There is a fee. For the reason that if you pay, you're more likely to follow the advice, which means you'll see your career transform, and that's where the real joy comes in. For both of us.
It also means we're having a conversation that we're both serious about. I know I am. Are you serious enough about your success to invest in yourself? If you are, I know your outcome will be better.
Think of it this way. How many mornings would you stay in bed if your personal trainer was free?!
If you would like to find out more about How, and how much, please send an email we'll provide you with some FAQ's on what it takes to get started. And how.

p.s. Below are testimonials from a recent seminar I gave at the VCU Digital Creative Directors Conference in August:
No
nonsense motivator. Really useful info. Making my plan now.
As the
owner of my shop and not one thinking "next job for me", I was surprised how
much I took away from Heidi's presentation.
A very
practical, no-nonsense guide to career planning.
Great due
to its practicality, though a hard pill to swallow - in the best way.
Important.
Truly
motivated me to make sure that I'm pushing my career forward.
Great.
Writing
and planning goals immediately. Excellent thing to include in this program.
Excellent
help in understanding how to get on your track for the career you want.
Taught me
that I need to have a plan. A better one than I currently have. Learned that a
CD's job is as much about the work as it is about being a constant Talent
Scout.
Inspiring.
Challenging. Powerful.
Great
presentation style and person. The quantifiable goals are key.
